Youth Innovators in Society 5.0 was a youth-led initiative focused on expanding access to digital education and future-ready skills for students, particularly in rural and underserved communities. Recognizing that digital access is increasingly fundamental to education, employability, and participation in the future economy, the initiative worked to bring digital learning closer to students who might otherwise be left behind.

The project connected grassroots action with regional innovation networks. We developed and pitched the initiative in Malaysia through the YSEALI Reunion Programme, securing funding to advance the project, while also engaging with a company in Myanmar to explore opportunities for scaling and sustainability.

By working with local NGOs and community partners, and by connecting students, civil society, funders, and regional partners, Youth Innovators in Society 5.0 demonstrated how youth-led innovation can address digital inequality while creating pathways for young people to participate more meaningfully in the emerging digital economy.
